ALU POSTO





Ingredients :

  • Potato (Alu)                ~   500 gms cut into small cubes
  • Poppy seeds (Posto)  ~   25 gms ground to a fine paste
  • Turmeric Powder        ~   1/2 teaspoon
(Guro Halud)
  • Green Chillie              ~   8 nos. ground to a fine paste
(Kacha Lanka)
  • Sugar                         ~   ½ teaspoon
  • Mustard Oil                ~   5 teaspoons
  • Salt                            ~   to taste



Method Of Preparation :

  • Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the potatoes till brown.
  • Add salt and turmeric powder and blend it with the potatoes.
  • Add poppy seed paste, green chillie paste and cook for 4 minutes stirring continuously.
  • Add sugar and 2 cups of water and bring it to boil.
  • Once boiling is reached, reduce flame and stirfry till the mixture attains a thick dry consistency.
  • Your ALU POSTO is ready to be served.
